Spring is in the air and so will come all the special events that spring and summer will bring upon us. There are times for the dramatically different, such as Chanel 513 Black Pearl. However, there are times for the classic, such as this beauty Chanel Le Vernis 515. It is a lovely shade of peach with soft white shimmer. It is not a loud or trendy shade that will beg for maintenance. (You know what I mean with dark nail polish that shows chips just when you need it to look perfect ;).
Like most Chanel nail lacquer's, this shade applies smoothly and evenly. Takes 3 coats for complete opaque coverage, although 2 will do if you don't mind it a tad sheer. At $26 CAD a bottle, this is definitely a splurge item that will last through several days of wear without much of a budge.

After returning the Hello Kitty Sephora Charmmy Eye Shadow Sticks, I went ahead and got the NARS Fashion Forward Set that includes the oh so loved NARS Daphne Eye Shadow, NARS Easy Lover Lipgloss, NARS Orgasm Multiple and NARS Hollywoodland Soft Touch Eye Shadow Stick. For $70 CAD for the set, this adds up to a great value for those who have yet to purchase 3 out of the 4 items. (Myself included! ;)
NARS Daphne Eye Shadow is a matte vibrant violet. It comes off a tad dry, verging on chalky when swatched. It definitely needs a good cream base or primer to stick to. (Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Face Eye Shadow Insurance, MAC Paint, MAC Paint Pot and other similar products will due.)
NARS Easy Lover Lip Gloss is a sheer shade of bright fuchsia pink. It provides just a bit of shimmer with a bit of color. As sheer as it is, it makes it a bit more wearable for everyday. Over a bright pink lipstick, it will provide loads of shine that is not too sticky to be a bother.
NARS Orgasm Multiple is a shimmery golden peachy pink. While it can be used on eyes, cheeks and lips, I still prefer using this on cheeks only. I actually really like that this is the mini size included. It's a perfect travel and purse friendly product. :)
NARS Hollywoodland Soft Touch Eye Shadow Stick is a pale shimmery champagne. I like this on the inner third of the lower lashline. It opens up my eyes and doesn't move much when worn here. As an eye shadow and eye shadow base, I think this product needs some work. As an eye shadow, it is a bit sheer. As an eye shadow base, it doesn't have much staying power. Having that said, i didn't have any staying power issues when on my lash line. If you missed out on MAC I Get No Kick Eye Kohl, this would be a good substitute.
The set also includes a suggested face chart using the products included, as well as several other NARS products. While I don't have all of the products listed to try the look on my own (specifically Black Moon Eyeliner Pencil, Desire or Exhibit A Blush and Funny Face Lipstick), I still like how it comes together without them.
The NARS Fashion Forward Set is definitely one to checkout on your next visit at Sephora. Have a look soon though, they didn't seem to have many of these when I picked mine up. I hope to get a full on face shot with all of these! Wish me luck on the acne front ;)

Benefit Bella Bamba Blush is a gorgeous shade of bright, yet soft golden pink blush. Described as, "a 3D brightening pink face powder." I find that this description is pretty accurate.
The slight yellow undertones of this blush are accented by the soft golden pearl is not over the top, subtle and day time appropriate. It is pigmented, but not too much to feel the need to be applied lightly. Used with the provided short handled brush, I get a fair amount of product that can be easily blended down to a perfect natural pink with a hint of gold. With that said, I still prefer applying it with my good old MAC 129 brush. (Blending is so much easier with it ;)
I'm loving this blush a lot. I've used it quite a bit lately for a simple work look. Pair it with a sheer shimmery golden beige eye shadow, black eye liner, mascara and raspberry lipstick, and the quick 5 minute face is done :) Benefit Bella Bamba is definitely one to check out :)
