MAC Digi-Pops Dazzle Liptick Glaringly Hip & Sweet Bits Review & Swatches

After going to the gym this morning I was pleasantly surprised to see that the mailman dropped off my recent Ebay purchase of MAC Dazzle Lipstick from the soon to arrive MAC Digi-Pops Collection to launch on July 8 at The Bay and Nordstrom counters. I had checked them out at my nearest MAC counter at The Bay and got a bit excited with all of the bling in these lippies. I was looking through Ebay one evening and came across a few listings for Dazzle Lipstick. Much like Dazzleglass, it is chockful of fine bits of reflects glitter. If a creamy or matte lip is your usual lip look, these are not for you.

I picked up Glaringly Hip and Sweet Bits. Dazzle Lipsticks will retail for $16.50 CAD.

Glaringly Hip is a light coral peach with peach and pink pearl. In the tube, it is similar in shade to Jazzed from MAC In The Groove. However, on application there is only slight pigmentation with a huge load of fine peach and pink glitter over top. It is quite comparable to MAC Dazzleglass in Utterly Posh (pink and gold pearl).

Sweet Bits is light pink with a hint of lavender. It is full of light lavender and pink pearl. If you like something similar to Pink Plaid, but want something with a ton of shimmer, this will definitely do the trick. It is quite comparable to MAC Dazzleglass in Like Venus, Via Veneto and almost Baby Sparks.

It is quite noticeable that these lipsticks are sheer. These do require layering to get some coverage. Lip swatches required at least three if not four swipes of lipstick. At that, they do not achieve opacity. Pigmentation is pretty low. However, the formula is not overly gritty given how much glitter pearl is in these. Unfortunately, after a few hours of wear and dinner it did not survive.

Worth it? Well, yes and no. Given their similarity to Dazzleglass, I don't think these are essential. However, if you like the sparkle of Dazzleglass, but would prefer less glossiness, Dazzle Lipstick is the way to go. Essentially, these as a drier version of Dazzleglass that is easier to apply and migrates less. I think I will probably be picking up Wham, Snazzy,Baby's On Fire and Troublemaker on launch day, as well as Spanking Rich and Fabulous Fun Dazzleglass. For now, it is time to play with Sweet Bits and Glaringly Hip ;)
